Mr. Brown wants to turn Iceland into a slave colony!

Mr. Brown, prime minister of Britain seems to want to turn ordinary innocent icelanders like myself and my aging mother into slaves.  He is insisting that innocent ordinary people in Iceland, not related to the banking system at all, pay the huge debts of the icelandic banks, banks which were owned by a few egocentric and eccentric icelandic millionaires.

Those debts are not the responsibility of the icelandic people.  If Mr. Brown wants to get his money back, he should hunt down exactly those same icelandic former bank owners, who have now eloped with their billions which they are now hiding in Swiss banks or elsewhere. They should be prosecuted, not the average ordinary icelander.

However, if Mr. Brown insists in turning Iceland into a slave colony for Britain, Icelanders have no choice except to turn to Mr. Putin.  The Russians have for a long time been interested in the northern arctic and sub-arctic territories and I´m sure we Icelanders would be accepted gladly into the Russian Empire in spite of our current financial situation.  

Then The Russian Empire could fight the English Empire over the money.  They could throw nuclear bombs at each other and squabble at conferences in Geneva.

We Icelanders may have no other choice!

Seriously though, Iceland's government is demonstrating itself incompetent at financial crisis management and, with respect, should get international crisis management assistance. Openly declaring no intention of honouring banking obligations is unbelievable financial suicide! Much better to lay all cards on the table with the intention of negotiating to restructure the obligations, even if it would take years or decades to repay them. Even the African countries did that during many famine years. Other countries will inevitably have to stop processing Icelandic bank transactions if Iceland still declares no intention of honouring its obligations. Iceland must get international advice soon - otherwise the hole it's still digging will take decades, instead of years, to climb out of. Please tell mister Brown that the nation of Iceland sends him the finger - on both hands. He should know who the real slaves are when it comes to the connection between out two countries. The british may have been big people in the raping and pillaging of Africa and in running the slave trade over the Atlantic, but we go even further back to the middle ages when we took his ancestors as slaves (and something called the "cod wars") and if he continues his bullying against us, his little friends, he will need to face the consequences (við erum með betra karma sem þjóð og þurfum ENGU að kvíða frá svona innræktuðu kóngadýrkandi viðrini einsog honum!)

The british nation is way to good for their lousy politicians (as are we, as are we... )

Icelanders will have to wear mittens instead of gloves if they send so many fingers to the UK - and there are going to be hundreds of misunderstandings about kidnappings and ransoms. I just hope the banking negotiations conclude before any weapons of mass destruction are found in the Golden Circle terrorist training camps.
